Simple Cycle Energy Plants

Energy is obtained by using a gas turbine or engine in Simple Cycle Energy Plants. Waste exhaust gases are directly thrown away from the stack to the atmosphere. Flue gas above 400C causes thermal pollution and is not preferred due to its low efficiency. Since the waste heat of high temperature exhaust is not used, energy can only be produced as the turbine’s electric efficiency.
